About Blessed Virgin
According to Catholic tradition, Saint Veronica was a devout woman of Jerusalem who encountered Jesus Christ as He carried His Cross toward Calvary. Moved by compassion for His suffering, she courageously stepped forward through the crowd and offered Him her veil to wipe His bloodied and wounded face. Tradition holds that Our Lord miraculously left the image of His Holy Face upon the cloth, which became known as the Veil of Veronica. Although the details of her earthly life remain historically uncertain, her beautiful act of charity has been remembered for centuries in the Sixth Station of the Cross. Saint Veronica teaches Catholic families the importance of courage, mercy, compassion, and recognizing the presence of Christ in those who suffer.
